Pine Cone bird feeders in the making.

Fifty lucky eco-kids were bussed to us in the bush at Broederstroom and got to see owls up close and personal, many for the very first time in their lives. They also participated in a whole range of super-fun activities, including making their own owl masks and their own pine cone bird feeders.
They were then divided into groups to devise, rehearse and present plays on owls and the environment and a few budding thespians were discovered. Everyone also painted their own eco-posters with an environmental theme and got to play lots of games in our fresh bushveld air!
Each lucky Eco Club member got a super lunch and loads of snacks, a goody-bag and a badge proclaiming them to now be ‘Owl Wise’! Some of the goody-bags, however, were snaffled by some cheeky babboons who intruded on the day's proceedings.
